Context: This book, written by Germán Puerta (author and editor of books on astronomy and space), aimed to introduce children to classical mythology and modern astronomy.
The design challenge: How can we make a scientific subject (constellations, orbits, astronomy) visually accessible to children of different ages without oversimplifying it or making it seem childish? And at the same time, how could we make the book feel like an experience, not just a text with images?
The decisions: Typography served as the central thread throughout the entire system. On the cover, the title was constructed using star-like shapes to visually anchor the theme. Inside, that astral/mythological evocation was maintained but with a clean layout.

The graphic elements (constellations, orbits, stars) not only helped decorate the entire book but also served as a navigation point. Each page reinforces the sensation of moving through space, creating a continuous reading experience where the reader not only reads about astronomy but inhabits it.
What this project demonstrates: That the design of a coherent visual system can transform a book into an immersive experience. Where every decision, from typography to page elements, works to take the reader to a place, not just to inform.

Contexto: Este libro escrito por Germán Puerta (autor y editor de libros de astronomía y el espacio) quería acercar a los niños a la mitología clásica y la astronomía moderna.
El problema de diseño: ¿Cómo hacer que un tema científico (constelaciones, órbitas, astronomía) sea visualmente accesible para niños de distintas edades sin simplificarlo, ni infantilizarlo? Y al mismo tiempo, ¿cómo lograr que el libro se sienta como una experiencia, no solo como un texto con imágenes?
Las decisiones: La tipografía fue el hilo conductor de todo el sistema. En la cubierta, el título se construyó con formas estelares para anclar visualmente el tema. En el interior, se mantuvo esa evocación astral/mitológica pero con una lectura limpia.
Los elementos gráficos (constelaciones, órbitas, estrellas) no solo ayudaron a decorar todo el libro sino también como navegación. Cada página refuerza la sensación de estar moviéndose a través del espacio, creando una experiencia de lectura continua donde el lector no solo lee sobre astronomía sino que la habita.
Lo que este proyecto demuestra: Que el diseño de un sistema visual coherente puede transformar un libro en una experiencia inmersiva. Donde cada decisión, desde la tipografía hasta los elementos de página, trabaja para llevar al lector a un lugar, no solo a una información.
